I have the opportunity to announce, as a Producer and the Scriptwriter of four other screenplays, about our new documentary 'Guns, Laws, and Lives'. On May 20,1999, the then U.S. President Clinton passed through the Senate several important proposals to close the loopholes in U.S. gun laws. They wrote: "There are too many loopholes in the gun control laws we have. Today's vote is a step toward closing them". We are now well over 20 years further and it has always been my wish to finish a documentary about guns, the effects of guns on a society, the apparent misuse, the trends, and the rationale to promote a tool designed to be operated by professionals.
The pre-production "Guns, Laws, and Lives" has been kicked off this month and that requires for the team hours of research, telephone calls, speaking with experts (thanks Wil), and numerous details to be kept well-coordinated. With every documentary I get the question, aren't there enough programs and other documentaries out there? I cannot agree more, there are excellent documentaries about guns in correlation to violence, the political and social considerations of allowing guns, and the list goes on. Indeed, there seems to be no shortage in Western countries of watching and discussing guns in relation to the disasters when viewing the horrifying mass killings. The documentary, "Guns, laws, and Lives" finds the underlying cause of allowing guns to be operated by civilians and the public perception that some continents on this planet seem to spin out of control of gun ownership. Is it truly that bad, or are we deceiving ourselves? Watch and follow our work at the Guns, Laws, and Lives PRE-PRODUCTION reel site.
